Hire from India: the deepest offshore engineering market in the world.
India has more software engineers than any other country. Sprint Labs recruits from the top 5% — engineers, data scientists and product designers who would otherwise land at Amazon, Google or a Bengaluru unicorn — and employs them on real Indian labour contracts, with PF, ESI and gratuity handled properly.

One paragraph, then the detail.
India is the deepest and most competitive software engineering market in the world. Sprint Labs recruits from the top 5% of Indian engineers, employs them under Indian labour law, runs INR payroll, and handles PF, ESI, gratuity and TDS. The advantage is scale — we can staff a whole platform team in weeks, not months.
Why companies hire from India.
India ships more than 2 million tech graduates a year and hosts the deepest ecosystem of data, ML, cloud and enterprise engineering talent outside the US. The challenge is not finding engineers — it is filtering signal from noise. Sprint Labs' vetting funnel is calibrated for the Indian market, where a strong CV and a weak engineer are common and expensive.

People are hired locally, employed compliantly and supported from our regional operations — not sourced ad hoc from a marketplace.

Employment, compliance and payroll in India.
Indian labour contract
Sprint Labs signs an Indian-law employment contract with every hire. IP assignment, confidentiality and non-solicit clauses carry through to the client via the MSA and Work Order.
Provident Fund (PF) & ESI
EPF and ESI are registered and remitted monthly by Sprint Labs. Both employee and employer contributions are handled — you do not need an Indian entity.
Gratuity
Gratuity accrues from year one and is legally payable after five years of continuous service. Sprint Labs accrues it monthly so it never becomes a surprise cost on your invoice.
TDS & Form 16
Sprint Labs withholds and remits TDS monthly and issues Form 16 to each Indian employee annually. Salaries are quoted net-of-tax to the candidate.
Leave & public holidays
Statutory earned, casual and sick leave, plus regional public holidays. Sprint Labs administers all of it in-portal with visibility to the customer.
How India overlaps your working day.
India is UTC+5:30 — 4.5 hours behind Sydney, 5.5 hours ahead of London, 11.5 hours ahead of New York. That gives a full overlap with the UK morning, a strong overlap with the AU afternoon and Singapore day, and a workable early-shift overlap with the US East Coast morning.

People asking about hiring Indian developers offshore.
How much does it cost to hire an Indian developer offshore?
A mid-level Indian software engineer through Sprint Labs typically costs USD 2,400–3,600 per month all-in; a senior USD 3,800–6,500; a strong ML or data engineer USD 4,800–7,500. That includes salary, PF, ESI, gratuity, hardware, HR and Sprint Labs' employer overhead.
Is India still cost-effective for hiring developers in 2026?
Yes for most roles, though the senior end of the Indian market — ML engineers, staff engineers at unicorns, cloud architects — has priced up sharply and is now competitive with Vietnam or the Philippines. India remains the strongest market in the world for scale, ML/AI and enterprise engineering.
Do we need an Indian entity to hire Indian engineers?
No. Sprint Labs is the legal employer of record in India, runs INR payroll, and handles all statutory obligations (PF, ESI, gratuity, TDS). Your engineers report to you day-to-day and appear on your org chart under their own names.
How does Sprint Labs handle the noise problem in the Indian market?
The Indian engineering market is enormous but noisy — strong CVs, weak signal. Our four-stage vetting is calibrated for it: screening with reference and background verification, an observed practical assessment on real code designed to catch pattern-matched interview prep, a communication and culture interview, and pre-client training. Around 3% of Indian applicants clear it.
What time zones do Indian engineers cover?
India is UTC+5:30. Sprint Labs Indian hires typically work a shifted schedule to cover the UK morning fully, the AU afternoon strongly, and — where needed — early-morning overlap with the US East Coast. Shift preferences are captured up front in the request.
How is IP ownership handled with Indian hires?
Every Sprint Labs Indian employment contract includes an IP assignment clause in favour of Sprint Labs, which is then assigned to you through the MSA and Work Order. Code, models and designs are owned by you from day one, exactly as with a direct hire.
