Senior technical judgement, without a senior local salary.

Architects, platform engineers and technical leads who can make the infrastructure decisions your team is currently deferring — employed by Sprint Labs, embedded with you.

    In short

What is cto & devops support through Sprint Labs?

This service covers the senior end of the engineering org: cloud architecture, DevOps, platform reliability, security posture and technical leadership. Available full-time or as a defined part-time seat with agreed monthly hours.

    Best for
    • Teams that have outgrown 'whoever deployed it last' infrastructure
    • Founders who need architectural review before scaling spend
    • Companies facing SOC 2, ISO 27001 or an enterprise security review
    • Engineering teams with no one owning reliability or cloud cost
    What you get

    Included in every engagement.

    Architecture ownership

Someone accountable for how the system is put together — not just the next ticket. Reviews, decisions, and documentation that outlive the person.

    Infrastructure as code

Environments reproducible in Terraform, deployments in CI, secrets managed properly. The unglamorous work that stops 2am outages.

    Cloud cost control

In Sprint Labs' own engagements, most teams we start with are overspending an estimated 25–40% on cloud (Sprint Labs observation across client onboardings, 2023–2025 — not an industry benchmark). Rightsizing usually pays for a meaningful share of the seat.

    Security and compliance posture

IAM hardening, vulnerability management and the evidence trail needed for enterprise questionnaires and SOC 2 readiness.

    Technical mentorship

Senior hires raise the standard of everyone around them: code review, design discussion, incident discipline.

    Part-time seats available

Not every company needs a full-time architect. We support defined part-time seats with agreed monthly hours and the same employment protections.

    Process

    How it works.

    1. 01
      Diagnose

A short conversation about your stack, team and the decisions currently stuck.

    2. 02
      Right-size the seat

Full-time platform engineer, part-time architect, or both.

    3. 03
      Shortlist seniors

Fewer candidates, deeper screening — senior searches take three to six weeks.

    4. 04
      Embed and hand over

Documentation and runbooks are part of the brief, not an afterthought.

    Day to day

Embedded in your workflow, not sitting on the sidelines.

Your cto & devops support work in your tools, your rituals and your timezone overlap — the same standups, boards and reviews as the rest of your team.

    Managed for you

We handle employment, payroll and retention.

Contracts, compliance, local payroll and hardware are ours to run. You direct the work and we keep the people supported, paid on time and staying long term.

    Honest scope

    What this isn't

This isn't an advisory retainer that produces a slide deck. The people we place do the work: write the Terraform, run the migration, sit the on-call rotation.

    FAQ

Questions about fractional CTO and DevOps support.

Can I hire a part-time CTO or architect?

Yes. Sprint Labs supports part-time seats with agreed monthly hours — commonly 40 to 80 hours a month for architecture and review work. The employee still gets a real contract and benefits pro-rata, and you get a predictable monthly cost.

How senior can offshore engineering hiring realistically go?

Very. Vietnam, India and the Philippines all have engineers with 12–20 years of experience running large production systems, many of them ex-multinational. The constraint is supply and search time, not capability: senior searches take three to six weeks rather than one.

    Will they be on call?

If the role requires it, yes — but it must be in the Work Order, with the shift pattern and any on-call allowance priced into the seat. We won't retro-fit on-call onto someone hired without it.

Can they help us get SOC 2 ready?

They can do the implementation work — hardening, evidence collection, policy drafting, remediation — which is the bulk of the cost. You'll still need an accredited auditor and an internal accountable owner.
