Hire from Malaysia: multilingual engineering and revenue talent in APAC's hub.
Malaysia sits at the crossroads of South-East Asia — trilingual (English, Malay, Mandarin) engineering, sales and support talent, in the same trading day as Singapore, Sydney and Hong Kong. Sprint Labs recruits, employs and manages Malaysian staff on real labour contracts with EPF, SOCSO and EIS handled end-to-end.

One paragraph, then the detail.
Malaysia is a mature, English-first market with a bilingual (often trilingual) workforce and strong engineering, fintech, sales and support talent. Sprint Labs is the legal employer, runs Ringgit payroll, handles EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB tax, and bills you one flat monthly seat cost.
Why companies hire from Malaysia.
Malaysia is one of the most underrated offshore markets in Asia. English is a working language in tech and finance; a large share of the workforce is trilingual (English + Malay + Mandarin or Tamil), which is invaluable for APAC-facing sales and support; and the technical scene around Kuala Lumpur and Penang is a spillover from Singapore's fintech and semiconductor industries.

Employment, compliance and payroll in Malaysia.
Malaysian employment contract
Sprint Labs signs a Malaysian-law employment contract compliant with the Employment Act 1955 (as amended). IP assignment carries through to the client MSA and Work Order.
EPF, SOCSO and EIS
Employee Provident Fund, SOCSO and Employment Insurance System contributions are registered and remitted monthly by Sprint Labs. You do not need a Malaysian entity.
PCB / MTD income tax
Monthly Tax Deduction (PCB) is withheld and remitted by Sprint Labs, with annual EA form filing handled on the employee's behalf.
Leave & public holidays
Statutory annual, sick and hospitalisation leave, plus a generous public holiday calendar. Sprint Labs administers everything in-portal.
Bonus norms
13-month / contractual bonuses are common in Malaysian tech and finance. Sprint Labs structures them explicitly at offer so there are no surprises at year-end.
How Malaysia overlaps your working day.
Malaysia is UTC+8 — identical to Singapore, Hong Kong and Perth, one hour behind Sydney. That gives full synchronous overlap with the entire APAC region, a strong early-shift overlap with the UK, and a workable 6–8 hour US West Coast morning overlap.

People asking about hiring Malaysian software engineers offshore.
Why hire Malaysian engineers instead of Filipino or Indian?
Malaysia's edge is the bilingual/trilingual workforce and its proximity to Singapore's fintech and semiconductor ecosystems. If you need APAC-facing sales, fintech ops, KYC/AML, or embedded/hardware engineering (especially out of Penang), Malaysia is often the strongest choice. For pure volume software engineering, India and Vietnam are usually cheaper.
How much does it cost to hire a Malaysian software engineer offshore?
A mid-level Malaysian software engineer through Sprint Labs typically costs USD 2,800–4,000 per month all-in; a senior USD 4,200–6,200. That includes salary, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, hardware and Sprint Labs' employer overhead.
Do we need a Malaysian entity to hire Malaysian staff?
No. Sprint Labs is the legal employer of record in Malaysia. Your Malaysian team is contracted by us, paid in Ringgit, and managed by you day-to-day. You receive a single monthly invoice in your currency.
Are Malaysian engineers comfortable working in English?
Yes. English is a working language in Malaysian tech and finance. Most engineers, sales and support hires in the Sprint Labs Malaysian pool are fluent in English plus at least one of Malay, Mandarin or Tamil — which is a strong advantage for APAC-facing roles.
What time zone does Malaysia cover?
Malaysia is UTC+8 — the same trading day as Singapore, Hong Kong, Perth, and one hour behind Sydney. Full APAC overlap, strong UK-morning overlap, and workable US West Coast morning overlap.
Is 13th-month pay required in Malaysia?
It is not legally mandatory, but 13-month or contractual annual bonuses are the norm in Malaysian tech and finance. Sprint Labs structures them explicitly in the offer so they are visible up front rather than a year-end surprise.
