What does a strong video editor change?
Video is the highest-performing format on nearly every channel and the biggest bottleneck in most marketing teams. A dedicated editor cuts long-form into shorts, adds captions and motion, and keeps a weekly publishing rhythm — work that is fully asynchronous and ideal for an offshore seat.

What they own
- Edit long-form video and cut it down to short-form clips
- Add captions, lower thirds and light motion graphics
- Handle colour, audio levelling and cleanup
- Maintain the footage library and project files

AI skills for your video editor
Editing involves hours of footage review, captioning and cutting the same content into many formats. Training shows your video editor how AI can speed up transcripts, captions and clip selection, while pacing, timing and accuracy are still checked by eye and ear.
Transcript-assisted rough cuts
Generate a transcript of long-form footage, mark the strongest segments and assemble a rough cut in an editor such as Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
Selected segments are reviewed in context so nothing is cut in a way that changes the speaker's meaning, and the edit is approved before finishing.
Captions and subtitles
Produce captions and subtitle files from the transcript, styled to your brand guidelines and timed correctly for each channel's format, including burnt-in captions for short-form clips.
Every caption is proofed against the audio for names, numbers and technical terms, and timing is checked frame by frame on playback.
Repurposing long video into shorts
Cut a webinar or interview into several short-form clips with hooks, captions, thumbnails and correct aspect ratios for each channel.
Clips are checked for accurate context, audio levels and channel specs, and any music or stock footage is confirmed as licensed.
Using ten minutes of practice footage, they produce one short clip with captions and a thumbnail, document where AI was used and list the transcript and caption errors they found and corrected.

Interviewing a video editor.
Give them your own raw footage
Send ten minutes of unedited material and ask for one short. Pacing, caption timing and audio cleanup are visible in 30 seconds and cannot be faked by a showreel.
Work sample beats CV claims
Sprint Labs screens every video editor on a short, realistic task drawn from the work you actually need done, then sends you the output alongside the CV. You see the standard before you spend an interview slot on it.
English and communication are scored
Written and spoken English is assessed and you get a voice recording before you interview, so you know how this person will land in a client call, a Slack thread or a handover note.
Add AI accent conversion for $1/hour per user.
If the role spends time on the phone, our AI accent conversion neutralises accent in real time so every call lands clearly with your customers — without losing the person behind the voice.
Real-time neutralisation
Accent is softened live on the call, with latency low enough that the conversation still feels natural.
Their voice, preserved
Tone, pace, warmth and intent stay theirs. It is your actual team member on the line, just easier to follow.
Your existing phone system
Layers over the softphone or dialler you already run. No porting, no new platform, nothing to retrain.

Questions about hiring an offshore video editor.
How much does an offshore video editor cost?
Roughly USD 1,550–1,800 per month all-in at mid-level and USD 1,900–2,150 for a senior editor working across multiple formats.
How do we get large files to them?
Through your existing storage — Google Drive, Dropbox, Frame.io or S3. Editors we place in Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Bengaluru all work on fibre connections capable of handling 4K workflows.
What AI skills will my video editor learn?
Your video editor learns to use AI for transcript-assisted rough cuts, captions and subtitles, and repurposing long-form video into short clips. Captions are proofed against the audio, edits are checked for accurate context, and music and footage rights are confirmed. Which tools they use depends on what your business approves.
Do I need a local entity to hire a video editor offshore?
No. You sign a Master Services Agreement and Work Order with Sprint Labs, and Sprint Labs engages the video editor as an independent contractor. We handle contracts, fees and payments, engagement support and one monthly invoice. You direct the work day-to-day exactly as you would an in-house hire.
How long does it take to hire a video editor through Sprint Labs?
Most briefs produce a named, vetted shortlist within 5–10 business days. From there you interview, choose, and we handle the offer, contract and onboarding — typical brief-to-start is three to five weeks depending on the candidate's notice period.
What happens if the hire is not the right fit?
Tell us within the first 30 days and we replace them at our cost. After that, engagements carry a 60-day cancellation notice, which protects the contractor and gives you time to hand over work, but if you want to swap rather than offboard, we run a replacement search in parallel at no additional recruitment cost.
Is AI training included with this placement?
Yes. Once your team member starts, they can enrol in role-specific AI training with no additional training fee. You choose when they enrol, and the self-paced modules run during their normal working hours.
Can the training align with our tools and AI policies?
Yes. The course teaches general skills on practice material, and how your team member applies them depends on the tools, access and AI policy your business approves. If certain work must stay AI-free, they follow your rules. Third-party software subscriptions aren't included and are agreed during onboarding.
