How much does an offshore accountant cost, and how does hiring one work?
An offshore accountant costs USD 1,800–2,600 per month all-in at mid-level and USD 2,600–4,000 for senior or management accountants. Most candidates are Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB or NetSuite experienced, and many have worked to Australian or US conventions for firms in those markets. This is a hire, not outsourced accounting — the work stays in your systems.

What does a strong accountant change?
The first finance hire most growing businesses need is not a CFO — it is someone reliable who owns the close, chases the receivables and produces the numbers on the same day every month. Offshore makes that affordable a year or two earlier than a local hire would be, and the Philippine and Malaysian markets in particular have deep benches of accountants who already work to Australian and US standards.

What they own
- Own the month-end close and reconciliations
- Prepare management accounts and variance commentary
- Manage accounts payable, receivable and collections
- Prepare BAS, GST or sales-tax workpapers for your accountant to lodge
- Maintain the chart of accounts and support the annual audit

Interviewing an accountant.
Give them a messy trial balance
Hand over a realistic, slightly broken set of numbers and ask what they'd investigate first. Strong candidates go to reconciliations and cut-off before they go to the P&L.
Test the software, not the theory
Ask them to walk through a bank reconciliation in the exact system you run. Xero and QuickBooks experience does not transfer as cleanly as CVs suggest.
Check the jurisdiction fit
Australian BAS and superannuation, or US sales tax and 1099 handling, are learned conventions. Ask which markets they have closed books for and how recently.
Add AI accent conversion for $1/hour per user.
If the role spends time on the phone, our AI accent conversion neutralises accent in real time so every call lands clearly with your customers — without losing the person behind the voice.
Real-time neutralisation
Accent is softened live on the call, with latency low enough that the conversation still feels natural.
Their voice, preserved
Tone, pace, warmth and intent stay theirs. It is your actual team member on the line, just easier to follow.

Questions about hiring an offshore accountant.
How much does it cost to hire an offshore accountant?
Roughly USD 1,800–2,600 per month all-in at mid-level and USD 2,600–4,000 for senior or management accountants. That single monthly seat cost covers salary, statutory benefits, local payroll, hardware, HR support and Sprint Labs' employer margin, with no recruitment or placement fee.
Is this the same as outsourced accounting?
No. We do not provide accounting services. We recruit and employ a finance person who works exclusively for your business, inside your accounting software and under your approval controls, reporting to you. Sprint Labs is the legal employer; the work and the data remain yours.
Are they qualified accountants?
For accountant and management accountant roles we recruit CPA, ACCA or local-equivalent qualified candidates and verify the qualification during reference checks. If you only need transaction processing and reconciliations, a bookkeeper is the better-value brief.
Do I need a local entity to hire an accountant offshore?
No. Sprint Labs is the legal employer in-market. We contract the accountant, run local-currency payroll, handle statutory benefits and compliance, and bill you one flat monthly seat cost in your own currency. You direct the work day-to-day exactly as you would an in-house hire.
How long does it take to hire an accountant through Sprint Labs?
Most briefs produce a named, vetted shortlist within 5–10 business days. From there you interview, choose, and we handle the offer, contract and onboarding — typical brief-to-start is three to five weeks depending on the candidate's notice period.
What happens if the hire is not the right fit?
Tell us within the first 30 days and we replace them at our cost. After that, engagements carry a 60-day cancellation notice, which protects the employee and gives you time to hand over work — but if you want to swap rather than terminate, we run a replacement search in parallel at no additional recruitment cost.
