How much does an offshore virtual assistant cost, and how does hiring one work?
A full-time offshore virtual assistant costs USD 1,000–1,400 per month all-in at mid-level and USD 1,400–1,900 for experienced assistants. Every seat is a dedicated employee, not an hourly booking. The Philippines is the deepest market; shortlists land in 5–10 business days.

What does a strong virtual assistant change?
The complaint about virtual assistants is almost never about capability — it is about churn and divided attention, and both are products of the freelance arrangement rather than the person. An assistant on a real employment contract with local benefits and a notice period behaves like a team member, learns your business, and is still there in year two.

Interviewing a virtual assistant.
Give them a real half-day of your inbox
Anonymise a morning's worth of email and ask what they'd action, delegate, defer or escalate. Judgement is the whole job and it shows up immediately.
Written English is the deliverable
Have them draft two replies — one declining a meeting, one apologising for a delay. These go out under your name, so read them as if they already had.
Check the tooling honestly
Ask them to walk through how they'd set up a recurring report in the tools you actually use, rather than asking whether they know them.
Add AI accent conversion for $1/hour per user.
If the role spends time on the phone, our AI accent conversion neutralises accent in real time so every call lands clearly with your customers — without losing the person behind the voice.
Real-time neutralisation
Accent is softened live on the call, with latency low enough that the conversation still feels natural.
Their voice, preserved
Tone, pace, warmth and intent stay theirs. It is your actual team member on the line, just easier to follow.
Your existing phone system
Layers over the softphone or dialler you already run. No porting, no new platform, nothing to retrain.

Questions about hiring an offshore virtual assistant.
How much does an offshore virtual assistant cost?
Roughly USD 1,000–1,400 per month all-in for a full-time general virtual assistant and USD 1,400–1,900 for an experienced one. That covers salary, statutory benefits, local payroll, hardware, HR support and Sprint Labs' employer margin. There is no placement fee and no hourly billing.
Will the assistant work only for my business?
Yes. Every seat is a full-time employee dedicated to one client. We do not pool assistants or split them across accounts, which is the structural difference between this and a VA agency or marketplace.
Can they work US or Australian hours?
Yes. Manila is two to three hours behind eastern Australia, so an AEST day needs almost no adjustment. US hours are covered with an evening or night shift agreed in the Work Order, with any statutory night differential already included in your monthly seat cost.
Do I need a local entity to hire a virtual assistant offshore?
No. Sprint Labs is the legal employer in-market. We contract the virtual assistant, run local-currency payroll, handle statutory benefits and compliance, and bill you one flat monthly seat cost in your own currency. You direct the work day-to-day exactly as you would an in-house hire.
How long does it take to hire a virtual assistant through Sprint Labs?
Most briefs produce a named, vetted shortlist within 5–10 business days. From there you interview, choose, and we handle the offer, contract and onboarding — typical brief-to-start is three to five weeks depending on the candidate's notice period.
What happens if the hire is not the right fit?
Tell us within the first 30 days and we replace them at our cost. After that, engagements carry a 60-day cancellation notice, which protects the employee and gives you time to hand over work — but if you want to swap rather than terminate, we run a replacement search in parallel at no additional recruitment cost.
