    In short

How much does offshore staffing cost in Singapore, and how does it work?

A mid-level offshore seat for a Singapore company costs roughly SGD 1,300 to 4,700 a month depending on the role, as one flat monthly figure covering the professional's fee, recruitment and vetting, contracts, payments and FX, management support and replacement, plus 9% GST. A clear brief produces a named, vetted shortlist in 5 to 10 business days and brief-to-start is typically three to five weeks. You sign one Master Services Agreement with Sprint Labs Pte Ltd under Singapore law and a Work Order per seat. Nobody is employed in Singapore, so there is no work pass, quota, levy or CPF to manage.

Why Singapore companies are moving roles offshore now.

    83%

say rising manpower cost is their top challenge

The SNEF Survey on Wage and Employment Outlook 2026/27 found 83% of Singapore employers cite rising manpower costs as their biggest workforce challenge, up from 79% a year earlier, and 54% plan no headcount growth.

    S$6,000

Employment Pass floor from 1 January 2027

The EP minimum qualifying salary is S$5,600 today (S$6,200 in financial services) and rises to S$6,000 and S$6,600 for new applications from January 2027, scaling up with age, on top of the 40-point COMPASS test.

    S$650/mo

S Pass levy, plus a quota

S Pass hires carry a S$650 monthly levy, a minimum salary of S$3,300 rising to S$3,600 in January 2027, and sit under the Dependency Ratio Ceiling, so many firms run out of quota before they run out of work.

    17%

employer CPF on top of every local salary

For citizens and PRs aged 55 and under, employers contribute 17% of wages to CPF (ordinary wage ceiling S$8,000) plus SDL. A S$8,000 engineer costs about S$9,360 a month before recruitment fees, benefits or leave.

    S$1,800

Local Qualifying Salary since 1 July 2026

A local employee now has to earn at least S$1,800 a month to count fully toward your Work Permit and S Pass quota, up from S$1,600, which tightens quota headroom for firms with part-time or lower-paid local staff.

report longer hiring timelines than a year ago

ManpowerGroup's Q4 2026 Employment Outlook found one in three Singapore employers are taking longer to hire, with a lack of candidates with the required skills the most common reason.

Manila runs on Singapore time. Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta are one hour behind. Bengaluru is two and a half hours behind. A 9am to 6pm Singapore day is covered in full by every market we recruit from, with no night differential or shift loading, which is rarely true for clients in Australia, the UK or the US.

How the engagement works for a Singapore company.

    One Singapore-law agreement

You sign a Master Services Agreement with Sprint Labs Pte Ltd, a Singapore-registered company at 68 Circular Road, and a Work Order per seat. No contract with an overseas individual and no entity in the professional's country.

    One SGD invoice a month

The seat cost is fixed in SGD at the FX rate snapshotted when you accept the quote, so currency drift does not move your invoice mid-term. GST at 9% appears as its own line.

No work pass, quota, levy or CPF

The professional works from their own country, so there is no Employment Pass, S Pass, COMPASS assessment, Dependency Ratio Ceiling, foreign worker levy or CPF to manage. This is not a route to bringing someone into Singapore.

We manage the engagement, you direct the work

Sprint Labs engages each professional as an independent contractor and manages the agreement, monthly payments, time off, performance concerns, replacement and offboarding. They join your tools and standups and report to you day to day.

How this compares to what you may already have looked at.

Four models get mixed together under offshoring. They solve different problems.

    Employer-of-record platforms (Deel, Multiplier, Remote)

An EOR employs a person you have already found, in a country where you have no entity. It does not recruit, vet, manage or replace them. Sprint Labs does the finding, vetting and ongoing management, and there is no per-hire recruitment fee on top.

    BPO and outsourcing providers

A BPO runs a process with pooled staff under its own supervisors. It suits scripted, high-volume work and fails when the work needs product context. Here you get a named person who works only for you.

    Singapore recruitment agencies

A local agency charges a placement fee, hands over a CV and exits, leaving you to contract and manage someone overseas on your own. We stay accountable for the life of the engagement and charge no placement fee.

    Freelance marketplaces

Fast to start and hard to keep. No committed availability, no notice period, no cover for absence. A Sprint Labs seat is full-time, dedicated and backed by a 30-day replacement at our cost.
